Err, no.
Looks gorgeous.
Good news. I'm still pleased they're pushing the Kinect to be in every box, I think it's a bold and risky move that may or may not pay off, but it's simply daft to force the thing to be plugged in all the time, especially since you supposedly turn off all the kinect features...it just wouldn't make sense.
I'm still getting a PS4 first though because it's cheaper. And if MS released a kinect-free SKU, I'd probably wait 'till I can afford t...
Good.
There is literally - LITERALLY - nothing new in this article. The official statement from Microsoft is - "nothing is new. The Hardware is the same, the price is the same, the release date hasn't change. Sorry, we have nothing new to tell you at this time."
Even the source website is smart enough not put the word "new" in the headline. Why then is it in the title on here?
N4G fails. Again.
Coming from the same guy that said they weren't going to change their Xbox One DRM policies...sure, we believe you Nelson ;)
In all honesty though, I don't think it'll make a shred of a difference. Make cool content and features that the users like and the system will sell itself, stopping trying force the popularity that isn't there.
N4G + Cliff Bleszinski = Married couple.
"Am I the only one who noticed the last tweet?
Someone asked "If I buy a Xbox One, do I have to fear that the DRM stuff will return this generation?"
Response "Split will likely be digital vs. physical. Physical will feel like today. For digital we'll push features we discussed at E3"
Does that mean that, eventually, if you get a digital game, you have to deal with the DRM stuff?"
Pretty much. The...
Facial motion capture is current gen. Sorry Crytek.
Oh don't get wrong, it's looks beautiful and wat-not, but I'm just never going to get over the quick-time-fest of this game. How can they hold their head up high and talk about bringing a new experience to the table when the gameplay is the laziest thing achievable in the bounds of a traditional "video game" definition? But some how it's ok because they've motion captured the faces of theatr...
"Kotaku Update: "But not at launch. Microsoft's Marc Whitten just told us that devkit functionality will be added at a later date"
Through an adjustment to the SDK or a patch? 'Cumon Microsoft, I thought you guys had learned by now. More information!
This promise of "at a later date" sounds a little too sketchy to me. I have no doubt that they intend to do it at this point in time, but they could easily change their mind or...
This.
Obviously in a demo things will be set up to give an example of what kind of interactions are POSSIBLE in the game...same with any other game.
As for whether the game itself will be fully dynamic...well, if it's an open world game, how can it not be? Open world games usually don't use scripted events, it's simply too much work. There's nothing stopping the devs from making it a linear, story driven hacking game that's fun, and peop...
Yes. Why is this even an article?
And these are the same people you thought were going to enable you to share your digital downloads with 10 people on your friends list...really? C'mon, I want to hear you defend defend Microsoft...
I was wondering whether or not I should get an XBox One at launch after they reversed the DRM policies. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA, how silly of me...now I MIGHT get one when Titanfall comes out...might...
@Newmonday
Are you some sort of special retard? Why would you compare the Xbox 360 version of Witcher 2 to Ryse on the Xbox One?
Heck, Ryse looks better then Witcher 3 for God's sake, and Witcher 3 looks stunning graphically...what's wrong with you?
Well said except the bit about Ryse. All of those games you mentioned look amazing (except The Order..even if the models are in-game, until I see in-game gameplay being rendered, there's always a chance it will fall behind expectations), but Ryse was easily the most impressive looking Xbox One game out there, on par with Killzone (maybe) and probably better looking then Destiny and Infamous. Destiny's multi-platform anyway, so you're kinda shooting yourself in the foot by mentio...
@ Gimmemorebubblez
You're both arguing the same point. Sony want to make money and they know the best way to get money from customers is to give customers what they want. Simple.
11/12/13 for US and 11/12/13 for Europe :P
Teh, most consoles have weak launches. So what else is new? I don't expect the XBox One's to be mind blowing either...
I hope PS3 fans will come to appreciate the direction Sony took with the PS4 when ditchthing the cell. I know backwards compatibility is important to some of you, but I just don't think the pain it causes devs (think of the time and money) is worth being able to play old PS3 games when you can simply not get rid of your PS3 instead.
<...
You mean they actually DID that at all? Does Sony do this as well? Wow..well, it's great they've changed it now I guess, although I'm now a little worried they might have kept the policy on the XBox One since the article only mentioned the 360.
Microsoft really should allow devs to self publish on the Xbox One.
...Or, they're being so secretive because they haven't finalised it yet.
Trust me, it ain't gona be October.
